Elizabeth Socks

These socks are from A Cuff Above by Cynthia Guggemos.
They are knit with Size 2, 32" long KnitPicks circular needles
*These are by far my favorite needles to use because they are flexible with a thin cable and are easy to work with!
Yarn is Deborah Norville Sock yarn in Aquamarine and Paton's Kroy Socks FX.

August 11, 2011 - half of right sock completed!  I haven't done a sock from the top down in quite some time (usually like toe-up socks!) and the directions have you knit the right and left sock heels slightly differently so the pattern "jog" at beginning and ending of rounds ends up on the inside of the leg where it's less visible.

Robin Hood Jacket

Pattern by Zoƫ Mellor and published in the book Adorable Knits for Tots: 25 Stylish Designs for Babies and Toddlers.

Completed using Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn (Fig color) and size 10 1/2 (6.5mm) needles.

I started this July 17th, 2011 and had to rip it out and redo the beginning 4 times (sigh) to get the size right - even then my gauge isn't correct (yarn is a bit thicker than the yarn pattern calls for).  I am knitting the "newborn" size and it will be large enough for the 4 year old it's intended for... back panel is 13" wide and 15" tall.

August 8th, 2011 - Back and both sides of front completed!
I may have done a small victory dance after completing the back, and was so excited I finished both sides of the front within a couple of days.  The pattern is easy to follow once you get through one set of the cable repeat pattern.
I have to admit that while knitting the right front section, I got into a groove and completely forgot to do the buttonholes!  So... this will have frog clasps instead of wooden toggles and button holes.
